James Zucco is a former advertising art director who turned his focus to fine art and editorial illustration in 2016. Working primarily with ink and water on paper, he creates minimalist, emotionally resonant works rooted in concept. A carryover from his years in advertising, ideas remain central to his practice, with titles serving as essential partners to the imagery, deepening meaning through poetic suggestion. He also shares performance videos of his creative process. James lives in Minneapolis with his wife and their dog. His work is held in private collections around the world.
